French logistics company Transports Lebrun has introduced two Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks to transport freshly pressed grape juice for champagne producer Vranken-Pommery, adding zero-emission vehicles to one of the Champagne region’s busiest harvest supply chains. The trucks move juice from wineries to fermentation tanks, operating quietly across the region and covering several thousand hectolitres during the harvest season.
Transports Lebrun, which operates a fleet of 50 trucks and roughly 100 tanks, transitioned to battery-electric vehicles after trialling the eActros 600 during last year’s harvest. According to Daimler Truck, the vehicles performed without local CO₂ emissions and drew strong interest from winegrowers and Vranken-Pommery. The company described the vehicle as “a symbol of the future of mobility in viticulture.”

The eActros 600 went into series production at the end of November 2023, with customer deliveries beginning in December of the same year. It is now used in daily operations in more than 15 European markets. The model is equipped with three LFP battery packs providing a total installed capacity of 621 kWh, enabling a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
Daimler Truck is also widening its electric truck portfolio. The eActros 600 is now available in additional chassis variants, including a 4×2 flatbed with wheelbases of 4, 5 and 5.8 metres. The company has also expanded wheelbase options for the 6×2 configuration.

Alongside this, Daimler introduced a lighter variant, the eActros 400, featuring two battery packs totalling 414 kWh. The reduced weight increases payload capacity to 9.5 tonnes, allowing the truck to carry more than 25 tonnes with a standard semi-trailer—around three tonnes more than the eActros 600.
