Transdev in Sweden Places Order for 52 Electric Buses from BYD

Public transport operator Transdev in Sweden has placed an order for 52 electric buses from BYD, one of the leading electric vehicle manufacturers. The order includes 44 15-metre electric buses and 8 12-metre buses for use in the Gästrikland province located on the east coast of Sweden.

The 15-metre buses, featuring a double axle at the rear, are in high demand in Scandinavian countries for intercity operations. These vehicles have three doors and are equipped with an advanced LFP battery technology that provides a range of 450 kilometres, making them a practical option for many public transport operators.

This order is Transdev’s largest for BYD, who has already delivered or has on order more than 700 electric buses in Scandinavian countries. These vehicles have covered 59 million kilometres so far, making a significant impact on both emissions and noise levels. “The fact that 52 out of 66 regional buses will be powered by electricity will have a significant impact on both emissions and noise levels,” says Fredrik Beckius, General Manager Transdev in Gästrikland/Hälsingland.

BYD is proud to support Transdev as they work towards expanding their green fleet of zero-emission electric buses in Sweden. “BYD eBuses are playing a pivotal role in empowering the electrification of public transport across the Nordics, and we expect our latest pioneering technology to further accelerate this transition as we continue to innovate and inspire eMobility on a global scale,” says Edison Yin, BYD Regional Manager Nordics.
