Toyota releases Corolla Cross with hybrid powertrain

Toyota recently introduced the Corolla Cross Hybrid which marks a new addition to the lineup for 2023. This latest car from Toyota itself is the first car to bring Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system which is claimed to be much more efficient than the previous generation.

With an all-wheel-drive configuration, this hybrid car has a fuel consumption of 1 liter for 15 kilometers. The Corolla Cross Hybrid features an electric four-cylinder engine with an output of 194 hp, an increase of 25 hp over the standard non-hybrid model. This car itself can accelerate from 0-100 km in 8.0 seconds, one second faster than the hon-hybrid model.

Minor upgrades were also made to the front fascia, and buyers can now choose from five different trims, namely the LE, XLE, S, SE, and XSE, with the Sport option available on the S, SE, and XSE models. The previous four trims offer standard fabric upholstery on the inside, while the XSE comes in premium SofTex faux leather.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid is available in six color options, namely Wind Chill Pearl, and there are four other colors: Sonic Silver, Barcelona Red, Blue Crush, and Acidic Blast, which is the latest color for the Corolla Cross.

Along with the electrified powertrain, each Corolla Cross Hybrid adopts Toyota’s new infotainment system. The standard 8.0-inch touchscreen now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity and a 4G wi-fi hotspot, as well as more USB-C ports throughout the cabin. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 also comes as standard, and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and lane-keep assist with lane centering.

Toyota has yet to reveal the price of the hybrid version of the Corolla Cross. With hybrid technology and embedded upgrades and updates, this hybrid Corolla Cross will certainly be more expensive than the non-hybrid Corolla Cross.
