Toyota has launched the right-hand-drive (RHD) version of its all-electric bZ3X SUV in Hong Kong, priced from 229,600 HKD (about 29,500 USD), making it the automaker’s most affordable model in the city. The new EV undercuts the Sienta Luxury, previously Toyota’s lowest-priced offering in Hong Kong, by roughly 10,000 HKD.
Developed jointly by GAC-Toyota, GAC Group, and Toyota Motor Corporation, the bZ3X is manufactured at the GAC Toyota Nansha plant in Guangzhou. The model has been on sale in mainland China since March 2025, with cumulative sales exceeding 46,000 units and topping the joint-venture new energy vehicle (NEV) rankings several times.

Hong Kong has emerged as one of the fastest-growing EV markets in Asia, with electric vehicles now making up nearly 70% of new-car registrations. Toyota, which has long maintained a strong presence in the city through its hybrid lineup, is seeking to strengthen its foothold in the fully electric segment.
GAC Toyota Executive Vice President Wen Dali said the introduction of the model “fills the gap in Toyota’s Hong Kong lineup and responds to local demand.” The RHD version has been customized for Hong Kong’s dense urban conditions, featuring design and technology tailored for narrow roads, compact parking, and frequent city commutes.

The bZ3X RHD variant is equipped with a 150 kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor and a 70.0 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering up to 565 km under the NEDC testing cycle (around 500–520 km CLTC). The SUV supports 6.6 kW AC and 90 kW DC fast charging, while its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function allows it to power external devices.
Inside, the model features an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen combining navigation, multimedia, and vehicle settings. Key amenities include wireless Apple CarPlay, English voice control, an 11-speaker Yamaha audio system, and ventilated power-adjustable front seats. The rear seats recline between 117° and 137°, offering additional comfort, and the cabin provides competitive cargo space for its size.

Toyota has localized several features for Hong Kong buyers, including three years of free public charging, a lifetime battery warranty, and cross-border roadside assistance between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The company said these offerings underscore its efforts to tailor EV products for local driving habits and ownership expectations.
The Hong Kong launch also marks the global debut of a China-developed Toyota EV in a right-hand-drive market. The model highlights Toyota’s growing reliance on localized engineering partnerships to expand its EV lineup across diverse markets. Industry analysts expect the bZ3X to reach other RHD markets, such as Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Australia, in the coming years.
