Tesla’s Refreshed Model 3 Spotted with New Wheels

Tesla’s “Project Highland” is reportedly underway, and it’s expected to bring about an updated version of the popular Model 3 electric vehicle. With sightings of camouflaged Model 3’s on the road, it seems that Tesla is making strides in the development and testing of its updated EV. The latest sighting, captured by The Kilowatts, shows the refreshed Model 3 with new wheels.

One of the primary objectives of Project Highland is to reduce costs, and it’s rumored that Tesla may be implementing the Gigacasting method used for Model Y production to achieve this goal. This could potentially pave the way for a structural battery pack, as well as Tesla’s new 4680 cells.

As for design updates, not much is known for sure. However, it’s expected that the updated Model 3 will have a new front end and potentially other design cues similar to the refreshed Model S and Model X. The latest sighting of the camouflaged Model 3 also shows a covered rear end, leaving many to speculate about potential changes there as well.

What is clear from the latest sighting is the presence of new wheels on the refreshed Model 3. These wheels appear to be similar to Tesla’s 18-inch Aero wheels but without the cap. It’s possible that Tesla may unveil more details about the updated Model 3 at its upcoming Investor Day on March 1, 2023.
