Tesla has expanded its Model Y lineup in Europe, introducing three standard variants after discontinuing the limited-edition “Launch Series.” The updated range includes the Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD), and Long Range All-Wheel Drive (LR AWD). The Performance version remains unavailable at this stage.
The changes come less than a month after Tesla debuted the facelifted Model Y, codenamed “Juniper,” with a special “Launch Series.” While this edition is no longer available in most European markets, it remains listed in the UK configurator. The Launch Series was essentially a Long Range AWD model with specific equipment, such as 20-inch wheels and a trailer coupling.

The entry-level Model Y RWD, featuring a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, is priced at €44,990 in the configurator, maintaining its previous price. Tesla does not disclose official battery specifications, but reports suggest the LFP pack has a capacity of 62.5 kWh and supports a peak charging rate of 175 kW. The WLTP-certified range has increased from 455 kilometers to 500 kilometers when equipped with 19-inch wheels. However, 20-inch rims are currently unavailable for this version.
From the LR RWD variant onward, the Model Y is fitted with a 78.4 kWh battery pack. The rear-wheel-drive version of this model sees its range increase from 600 to 622 kilometers, the highest in the lineup. Interestingly, Tesla lists the same 622-kilometer range for models with the new 20-inch “Helix 2.0” wheels (€2,200), whereas the previous 20-inch design was rated at only 565 kilometers. The LR RWD version is priced at €49,990, which is €1,000 higher than before the facelift.

The LR AWD model, the only all-wheel-drive option currently available, starts at €52,990, making it €2,000 cheaper than its pre-facelift predecessor. This variant offers a range of 586 kilometers with 19-inch wheels or 568 kilometers with 20-inch wheels. Tesla has not disclosed any changes to the charging curve, but the maximum DC fast-charging power remains at 250 kW.
The facelifted Model Y maintains a streamlined options list. In Germany, the standard exterior color is “Pearl White Multi-Coat,” while in the UK, it is “Stealth Grey.” Other paint choices include “Ultra Red” and “Quicksilver,” which are available for €2,600 in Germany and £2,600 in the UK. The darker “Midnight Cherry Red” offered previously has been replaced by “Ultra Red.”

For the interior, customers can choose between black (standard) and white upholstery. The seven-seat configuration, previously offered, is not yet available in the refreshed Model Y. Optional upgrades include a trailer coupling with a 1,600 kg towing capacity (€1,350) and advanced Autopilot packages: “Enhanced Autopilot” (€3,800) and “Full Self-Driving Capability” (€7,500). UK pricing for the full self-driving option is £6,800.
The updated Model Y is now in production at all four Tesla Gigafactories that previously manufactured the model. Deliveries for the new variants are scheduled to begin between May and June, depending on the market. The Performance version of the Model Y Juniper is yet to be announced, following a similar pattern to the Model 3 Highland facelift, where the top-tier version was introduced several months later.
