Tesla is gearing up to launch a new suite of off-roading features for its Cybertruck, as revealed in an exclusive video shared over the weekend.

The upcoming off-roading tools for the Tesla Cybertruck were showcased in an exclusive video released by Top Gear on Sunday. The video highlights new features that will enhance the Cybertruck’s off-roading capabilities, including additional off-roading modes, access to pitch and angle settings, front and rear locking differential controls, and more.

Filmed in Johnson Valley, California, the video features both a Cybertruck and a Rivian R1T as they undergo off-road testing. The tests include challenging maneuvers such as rock crawling, navigating through whoops, performing jumps, and crawling over sand dunes, with the Cybertruck showcasing some of its new features.

Among the new features are four dedicated terrain modes for different off-road conditions: all-purpose, rock, gravel/deep snow, and sand. The software also allows drivers to toggle between activating all locking differentials, only the rear differential, or turning them all off.

Tesla has previously demonstrated the Cybertruck’s off-road capabilities, and the company appears to be emphasizing this aspect with the new features. Despite facing criticism for viral videos showing the Cybertruck encountering challenges during off-road tests, Tesla maintains that these incidents were largely due to driver inexperience.

The video also reveals the highly anticipated Cybertruck light bar, positioned above the vehicle’s windshield.

In response to the news, Tesla Cybertruck engineer Wes Morrill commented on X, hinting that there may be additional features in the upcoming release beyond what is shown in the video. While the exact release date for the new off-roading features is not yet known, Morrill stated that detailed release notes will be made public soon.
