Tesla has removed the popular Atari games from its Tesla Arcade in a recent software update, disappointing old-school gamers who enjoyed playing them.

The company also introduced an ‘Explicit Content Filter’ for TIDAL, its music streaming platform, to enhance safety for children and simplify parental controls.

These changes are part of Software Update 2024.20.3 and were initially reported by Not a Tesla App. The update, primarily focused on bug fixes, included these two changes, which were labeled as “Undocumented.”

Tesla’s Arcade previously featured several Atari titles, such as Gravitar, Tempest, Millipede, Missile Command, Lunar Lander, Super Breakout, and Asteroids. These games were popular among Tesla owners, providing entertainment during breaks in driving or while supercharging.

However, Tesla has been upgrading its entertainment system to offer newer, higher-quality games with improved graphics and a more immersive gaming experience. This change affects vehicles equipped with the AMD Ryzen processor, while those without it can still access the Atari games.

Tesla recently scaled back its gaming features in new vehicles by discontinuing support for Steam Gaming.

In addition to the gaming changes, Tesla introduced an ‘Explicit Content Filter’ for TIDAL, accessible through Audio Settings > Options. This feature, already available for Apple Music since earlier this year, aims to filter out content that some passengers may find inappropriate.
