Tesla Model Y officially arrives in UK and other right-hand drive markets

Tesla has officially launched the Model Y in the UK and several other right-hand drive markets. this further cements the position of the Model Y as the world’s most popular electric vehicle.

At first, the Model Y will officially launch after Tesla starts production for our first one at the Berlin Gigafactory. However Tesla decided to import the Model Y from the Shanghai Gigafactory to some European markets.

Although it has imported the Model Y for the European market, there is no plan from Tesla to bring it to the UK market and several other right-hand drive markets in Europe.

In October 2021, consumers in the UK can begin ordering the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel-Drive for delivery “early 2022.”

Earlier in 2021, Tesla posted a record electric vehicle sales in the UK. It made the new electric vehicle market reach a new milestone of more than 10% of the car market for the first time.

By 2021 Tesla delivered more than 34,000 Model 3 vehicles in the UK – nearly three times more than the second best-selling EV on the market.

The incoming Model Y is predicted to be as popular or even more popular than the Model 3 in the UK, as is the case in other markets.
