Tesla has established its first Supercharger station in the Philippines, even before delivering its first vehicles to customers in the Southeast Asian nation. The new Supercharger is located at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), an upscale business district in Metro Manila.

The station, equipped with four V4 Supercharger stalls, is strategically placed near Tesla’s flagship Experience Center, also in Uptown Mall. According to Tesla Charging, a full charge for a Model 3 or Model Y at the station costs approximately PHP 1,140 ($20). This is roughly equivalent to 20 liters of gasoline, making EV charging a cost-effective alternative for local drivers.

Tesla Philippines currently offers only the Model 3 and Model Y, both imported from Gigafactory Shanghai. These vehicles are competitively priced against hybrids like the Toyota Camry and the Honda CR-V, although financing options include a 29% add-on rate for a 60-month loan. Initial deliveries are expected in early 2025.

Despite being a nascent EV market, the Philippines presents opportunities for Tesla. While challenges such as misconceptions about EV range and reliability persist, the compact geography of the country ensures that Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y can comfortably meet the needs of local drivers.
