Tesla has unveiled a range of accessories for the upcoming 2026 Model Y Juniper refresh, which is set to launch in the coming weeks. Among the notable updates is a redesigned frunk that now includes a built-in drain plug, a first for Tesla’s electric SUV. This addition allows owners to use the front trunk as a cooler, particularly for tailgate parties or camping trips, where melting ice can be easily drained.

While the frunk’s new functionality provides a convenient option for impromptu cooling, Tesla acknowledges that it may not be the ideal solution for long-term or proper storage of cold beverages. In response, the company has introduced an official portable frunk cooler, designed specifically for the new Model Y Juniper refresh.

Priced at $275, the cooler features the Tesla logo and is crafted from “durable, lightweight materials and high-quality insulation to keep perishables cold and ice frozen for days at a time,” according to Tesla. The cooler boasts a 42-quart (40-liter) capacity and measures 29.8 inches by 17.4 inches by 11.5 inches (75.7 cm x 44.2 cm x 29.2 cm). Tesla has confirmed that the cooler is also compatible with the frunk of older Model Y versions.

In addition to the cooler, Tesla has introduced several all-weather accessories tailored for the 2026 Model Y Juniper refresh. These include a frunk liner for $80, a rear trunk and seatback liner for $220, a rear well liner for $65, and interior liners with inlaid aluminum accents for $240. The accessories aim to enhance the vehicle’s practicality and durability, particularly for owners who frequently transport cargo or engage in outdoor activities.

Although owners of the 2026 Model Y Juniper refresh have various aftermarket options for frunk coolers, Tesla’s official version is specifically designed to fit seamlessly within the redesigned frunk, offering a precise fit and premium insulation. With these additions, Tesla continues to expand its range of vehicle accessories, catering to both new and existing Model Y owners seeking enhanced functionality and convenience.
