Tesla Giga Berlin achieves production of 1,000 EVs per week milestone

Giga Berlin has achieved an astonishing feat after being able to build 1,000 Model Ys per week since it first opened on 22 March 2022

In Tesla’s official Twitter account, the crew at the Giga Berlin joins the production of the 1,000th Model Y this week.

Elon Musk recently sent an email to Tesla employees, congratulating them on their hard work this year. According to Elon Musk, Giga Berlin produced nearly 1,000 cars last week, which is a significant milestone as Tesla tries to ramp up production in Europe.

This impressive achievement shows how quickly and smoothly the Giga Berlin production line has gone so far. Giga Berlin had a target production of 200 cars per day, and employees were able to exceed that number almost every day.

Giga Berlin has a long way to go to reach its peak potential with a production of 500,000 cars per year. To reach that peak potential, Tesla is ready to install eight Giga Press machines from IDRA in Phase 1 of Giga Berlin.

Giga Berlin currently only produces the Performance Model Y variant. Tesla also completed production trials for the Long Range model in March before it officially opened.
