Tesla users seem to be able to use Zoom’s video meeting feature in the near future. The feature was announced by video conferencing service Zoom during its recent Zoomtopia event.
Zoom showcased several new features for its service during Zoomtopia. One of them is the ability to launch the Zoom app from Tesla’s infotainment system. The feature allows Tesla passengers to hold or attend virtual meetings from their electric vehicle.
Zoom says it will bring the feature to “all new Tesla models very soon.” From the video shown, Tesla passengers have a video feed in the call, so the feature will likely use the in-cab camera built into Tesla’s new electric vehicle.
The video also shows that if you sync your calendar to your Tesla vehicle, you’ll be able to access Zoom meetings right from the in-car calendar.
However, it remains to be seen whether Zoom video conferencing requires a dedicated Wi-Fi connection or whether Tesla’s Premium Connectivity will cover the service.
You can watch a quick demonstration of Zoom in a Tesla in the video below.
