Tesla, on Sunday (2/1/2022), has announced their latest sales report. In the report, Tesla is reported to have delivered 308,600 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021. The sales number broke sales records in the previous quarter as well as analyst estimates. The automaker produced a total of 305,840 electric vehicles during the same period.
During 2021, Tesla delivered 936,172 vehicles, an 87% increase compared to 2020, when the company reported its first annual profit thanks to shipments of 499,647 electric cars.

In the third quarter of 2021, vehicle shipments hit 241,300, Tesla’s best quarter ever.
According to Wall Street analyst estimates, Tesla is expected to sell 267,000 electric vehicles in the fourth quarter and 897,000 for all of 2021.
Tesla combined shipping figures for Model S and X vehicles (expensive versions) and Model 3 and Y vehicles (lower prices). Tesla did not break down sales or production figures by region.
The Tesla Model S and Model X eagle-wing SUV contribute under 3% of total Tesla shipments in 2021. Meanwhile, Model 3 and Model Y shipments totaled 296,850 in the fourth quarter of 2021, and 911,208 for the full year.

Tesla makes Model 3 and Model Y vehicles at its factories in Shanghai and in Fremont, California. The Model X and S are manufactured in Fremont.
Musk has stated that he wants to increase Tesla’s vehicle sales volume to 20 million per year in the next nine years. In pursuit of that growth, Tesla is poised to start production of its Model Y crossover at its new Austin, Texas, plant this year and open another in Brandenburg, Germany.
