Tesla CEO Elon Musk Announces Wider Release of Full Self-Driving Beta v11

fter months of anticipation, Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta v11 is set to be released to a wider audience this coming weekend. The latest timeline was announced by none other than the company’s CEO, Elon Musk. This update is particularly significant as it merges Tesla’s FSD and legacy Autopilot highway stacks, the latter of which has been in use for over four years.

The development of FSD Beta v11 has been a long time coming. It first made its appearance on employee cars in November of last year and was expected to be released to the public beta testers before Halloween. However, several delays later, the version was only made available to a limited number of public testers last week.

The new update also addresses the issues raised by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which led to an over-the-air (OTA) recall. Tesla temporarily halted the rollout of FSD Beta to new owners or subscribers until the issues were resolved.

FSD Beta software enables Tesla vehicles to drive autonomously to a destination entered into the car’s navigation system. However, the driver must still remain alert and be prepared to take control of the vehicle, as it is still classified as a level 2 driver-assist system.

At present, there are over 400,000 Tesla owners participating in the FSD Beta testing program in Canada and the US alone.

Tesla’s FSD Beta v11 release has been long-awaited by the public and will undoubtedly be met with great enthusiasm by Tesla enthusiasts worldwide.
