Suzuki has announced plans to electrify its entire vehicle portfolio, including the popular Suzuki Jimny. During a recent investor presentation, the company discussed its global plans for electric vehicles, which include the release of five new electric cars in Europe by the end of 2024. One of these cars is expected to be the short-wheelbase version of the Jimny. The company also plans to release eight electric motorcycles globally by 2024, with some models ranging from 250cc to 750cc.
The presentation also highlighted Suzuki’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint through various initiatives, such as electric mobility scooters, electric marine motors that collect microplastics, and air recycling at its factories.

The European market will see a mix of cars from Europe and Japan, while the Japanese market will see six vehicles and at least three Kei cars included. In India, the company recently unveiled a 5-door version of the Jimny, which is currently only available in that market.
Suzuki’s first electric vehicle will be built with the help of Toyota, who is also shifting its focus to electric vehicles. However, Suzuki will not wait for Toyota to develop its own dedicated EV platform and is moving forward with its own plans.
