Sony Honda Mobility targets electric vehicle production by 2025

Honda and Sony cooperate in producing electric cars. To realize this mission, the two have built the company “Sony Honda Mobility” and will launch their products starting in 2025.

Sony Honda Mobility is jointly owned with a 50:50 shareholding. The head office of this joint venture is located in Tokyo, Japan. Meanwhile, Honda and Sony have completed their agreement this year. They will bring their best assets to be able to produce the best products.

Later, Honda will share its long experience in the automotive world, while Sony will bring the best technology and software.

Although there is no information on what technology will be offered by this Sony and Honda collaboration electric car. However, it is predicted that Honda’s mainstay features such as Honda Sensing will be embedded in it. The entertainment system and communication technology are predicted to have a big leap along with Sony’s presence.

Previously, Sony had launched the Vision-S 02 concept electric car at the 2022 Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, United States. The electric SUV will accompany the Sony Vision-S 01 electric sedan which was introduced earlier.

For information, the Vision-S 02 has a compact shape, at a glance similar to the Tesla Model Y. The front fascia is similar to the Vision-S01 model, with the characteristic LED headlights connected to the lightbar on the hood. Unlike the Vision-S 01 rims, the 02 model uses 20-inch rims.

In terms of performance, the Vision-S 02 is equipped with a pair of electric motors, each producing 268 hp, with an all-wheel drive system. There is no specific information about battery specs or mileage, but Sony claims the top speed of this car can reach more than 180 kph.
