Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) has opened its first Afeela Studio in Los Angeles, offering the public an early look at its upcoming electric vehicle ahead of its scheduled California release in 2026.
The studio, located at the Westfield Century City mall, will be open for six months, providing visitors with an opportunity to explore the Afeela EV’s design, technology, and digital features.

The grand opening ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting led by Shugo Yamaguchi, President and CEO of Sony Honda Mobility of America Inc. “We are thrilled to inaugurate the first Afeela Studio here in Los Angeles,” Yamaguchi said. “This space embodies our vision of blending cutting-edge technology with human-centric design, offering visitors a firsthand, immersive experience of the future of mobility.” While test drives are not available, guests can book in-car demonstrations to explore the vehicle’s interior and infotainment system.
The Afeela 1, developed through a collaboration between Sony and Honda, integrates over 40 sensors and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon digital chassis for advanced driver assistance and connectivity. Production is scheduled to take place at a state-of-the-art Honda facility in Ohio, with California deliveries expected to begin in 2026.

SHM has begun accepting reservations for the Afeela 1, requiring a $200 refundable deposit, currently limited to California residents. The vehicle is available in two trims: the Afeela 1 Origin, starting at $89,900, and the Afeela 1 Signature, priced at $102,900, which includes 21-inch wheels, a rear entertainment system, and additional premium features. Both trims come with a three-year complementary subscription for certain functionalities.
