Skoda said that several of its electric vehicles qualify for the UK government’s Band 2 Electric Car Grant (ECG), giving customers a £1,500 discount on new purchases. The Czech carmaker also unveiled the long-range Elroq SE L 85.

Eligible models include the Elroq SE, SE L, Edition and SportLine, as well as the Enyaq SE L and Edition. The newly introduced Elroq SE L 85 features an 82kWh battery with a WLTP range of up to 355 miles. Skoda said full pricing details are available on its website, with the grant reducing entry-level EV prices by £1,500.

Matthew Bowden, director of Skoda UK, said: “We are delighted to confirm that our award-winning models qualify for the Government’s Electric Car Grant… This initiative allows even more people to experience our innovative all-electric range, and reflects our ongoing journey towards becoming a more sustainable brand.”

To qualify for the ECG, a vehicle must be zero-emission and have a starting price under £42,000, following a government adjustment last month to cap eligibility. All of Skoda’s eligible models fall within the threshold, except the high-spec Elroq vRS, which starts at £46,560.
