Model Y Leads Dutch EV Market

Within the battery-electric vehicle segment, the Model Y accounted for a 6.8% share of registrations, maintaining its position ahead of competing electric models.

The Kia EV3 ranked second with 2,841 registrations, followed by the Škoda Elroq with 2,599 units. Tesla’s Model 3 also remained among the country’s leading electric vehicles, recording 2,234 registrations to place in the top five.

EV Market Share Continues to Grow

Overall battery-electric vehicle registrations in the Netherlands remained broadly stable compared with the same period last year, totaling 63,776 units, slightly below the 63,821 registrations recorded a year earlier.

Despite the marginal decline in volume, electric vehicles increased their share of the overall passenger vehicle market to 36.5%, up 1.5 percentage points year over year.

June marked a particularly strong month for electric vehicle sales. A total of 17,257 battery-electric vehicles were registered during the month, representing 44% of all new passenger car registrations.

That figure was 42% higher than in June 2025, when 12,135 electric vehicles were registered.

Model Y Maintains Momentum in International Markets

The Model Y also continued to post strong sales in several international markets.

According to Tesla Europe, the electric SUV recorded 1,588 sales in Switzerland during June, more than doubling its volume from a year earlier. In France, the model registered 6,635 deliveries over the same period.

Outside Europe, the Model Y also ranked as the best-selling passenger vehicle in markets including Australia, New Zealand, Colombia and China.
