SEUR and Repsol Partner to Establish Over 150 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Spain

In a move towards achieving more sustainable delivery solutions, SEUR, a parcel delivery company and part of the DPD Group in Spain, has partnered with Repsol, an oil company, to establish over 150 electric vehicle charging stations across 55 of its branches nationwide. With the world gradually transitioning towards a greener future, the partnership is a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of clean energy in the transportation sector.

As part of SEUR’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the company plans to integrate 3,000 electric vehicles into its fleet by 2030, in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint. In the interim, SEUR aims to make deliveries using low-emission vehicles in 64 Spanish cities with over 50,000 inhabitants by 2025, as it seeks to build a reputation as a sustainable delivery leader. This partnership with Repsol represents a major step towards the achievement of SEUR’s sustainability goals.

Although specific details about the charging points are yet to be fully disclosed by the companies, a photo accompanying the announcement shows AC charging columns with permanently attached Type 2 cables. While it is unclear what the charging capacity will be or how it will be distributed among the 55 SEUR branches, the vehicles featured in the photo are the Maxus eDeliver 3 and the Ford E-Transit.

The strategic partnership with SEUR is an indication of Repsol’s commitment to electric mobility and its efforts to develop a robust charging network for electric vehicles in Spain, according to Carlos BermĂșdez, Repsol’s manager of electric mobility. The deal, which involves one of the country’s most significant transport companies, is expected to contribute significantly to the promotion of electric mobility and the reduction of carbon emissions.

Itxaso Larrañaga, director of people and sustainability at the DPD subsidiary, expressed the company’s commitment to providing increasingly sustainable deliveries, stating that the partnership with Repsol would consolidate SEUR’s position as the international leader in sustainable delivery. With the increasing demand for eco-friendly delivery solutions, the partnership between SEUR and Repsol has the potential to drive positive change in the transportation sector while promoting a cleaner and more sustainable future.
