Scania receives order for 110 electric Heavy Duty trucks from Einride

Scania announced collaborative product development partnership with transport technology company, Einride. Under the partnership, Einride, a leading provider of digital, electric and autonomous delivery solutions, will operate a total of 110 Scania electric Heavy Duty trucks from the second half of 2022.

ā€œWe look forward to the start of this important partnership as we expand across Europe. These 110 trucks will make a major contribution to increasing our fleet, while we will continue to work closely with renowned industry players like Scania to drive innovation and product development in the global transportation industry,ā€ said Ellen Kugelberg, Chief Product Officer (CEO) of Einride, Tuesday ( 24/5/2022).

Scania’s fleet of electric trucks will be built according to Einride’s hardware specifications and powered by their first known operating system, Saga, ensuring efficient and optimized power delivery. The fleet data insights generated through the Saga platform will be provided to Scania for continuous joint product development.

Meanwhile, Fredrik Allard, Head of E-Mobility Scania said that this Einride order is the largest deal to date for electric heavy duty vehicles in Europe for Scania. This is also the start of a new long-term partnership that will contribute to the ambitions of both companies to increase electric road transport.

By further expanding their market presence with this partnership, a total of 110 Scania electric trucks will be implemented across Europe during 2022 and the first half of 2023.
