Chinese LiDAR manufacturer RoboSense Technology has become the world’s first company to deliver one million automotive LiDAR units, marking a major milestone in the adoption of autonomous driving technologies. The company confirmed the achievement on Monday, underscoring its position as a global leader in the sector.
RoboSense introduced its mass-producible M-platform LiDAR in 2019, with the first deliveries commencing in June 2021. The product has since become the most widely adopted ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) LiDAR platform worldwide, according to the company. The milestone reflects accelerating demand among electric vehicle makers for advanced driver-assistance technologies.
In 2024 alone, RoboSense delivered 544,200 LiDAR units—more than double its 2023 total of 256,000 units. Of last year’s sales, 519,800 were ADAS LiDARs, making up more than 95 percent of total deliveries. The firm also delivered 24,400 LiDAR units for robotics and other non-automotive applications. On February 24, RoboSense marked the production of its one millionth LiDAR unit with a delivery to a humanoid robotics company.
According to market research cited in RoboSense’s announcement, the company captured a 26 percent share of the global passenger vehicle LiDAR market in 2024—the highest of any manufacturer. As of March, it had partnered with over 30 automakers and Tier 1 suppliers, including Geely Auto, SAIC Motor, FAW Group, GAC Group, and GAC Toyota.
RoboSense has also launched its next-generation E-platform solid-state LiDAR and introduced a new product on its EM platform, further expanding its offering for both automotive and robotics markets.
