Rightcharge, a London-based startup focused on streamlining electric vehicle (EV) charging payments for fleet operators, has secured more than £1.6 million in seed funding to accelerate its growth and expand across Europe.

The funding round was led by Soulmates Ventures and joined by Blackwood Ventures, UnrulyCapital, and Purple Ventures. Rightcharge said the investment will help scale its operations beyond the UK, targeting markets such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, and Ireland. The company also announced a forthcoming partnership with Octopus Electroverse, though specific details have not been disclosed.

Rightcharge aims to address inefficiencies in fleet EV charging payments, particularly when drivers charge vehicles at home. “Existing payment systems, built for conventional fuel expenses, are not set up to handle EV home charging,” the company said in a statement cited by Tech EU. “Consequently, some companies rely more on public charging, which can be up to ten times more expensive than charging at home. These gaps in process and infrastructure are delaying fleet electrification at a time when adoption needs to accelerate.”

The company’s platform links an EV driver’s home energy account directly with fleet management systems, enabling automated reimbursements through monthly energy bill payments instead of traditional bank transfers. Rightcharge says this approach ensures accuracy as electricity rates fluctuate, creates an auditable record for tax purposes, and allows fleet vehicles to be integrated seamlessly.

Founded with the goal of accelerating EV adoption by simplifying the logistics of home and fleet charging, Rightcharge’s latest funding round underscores growing investor confidence in solutions that reduce operational barriers to electrification.
