California-based e-bike manufacturer, Ride1Up, continues to expand its lineup of electric bicycles with the introduction of the Prodigy V2. This latest model represents an evolution of the popular Prodigy mid-drive electric bicycle, designed to cater to urban commuting and off-road adventures alike. With options available in both step-through and step-over designs, the Prodigy V2 aims to accommodate riders of various sizes and preferences.

One of the notable upgrades in the Prodigy V2 is the inclusion of front suspension as a standard feature. This enhancement ensures a smoother ride, whether navigating city streets or venturing onto rougher terrain, providing increased confidence to riders. Additionally, Ride1Up has equipped the bike with full-coverage fenders to keep riders clean during commutes and a practical rear rack for carrying daily essentials.

Under the hood, the Prodigy V2 boasts a German-engineered Brose mid-drive system known for its smooth and quiet performance. Powering the motor is a Samsung 36-volt, 14-ampere-hour battery pack, delivering reliable energy for rides. Riders have a choice of two drivetrain options for the Prodigy V2: a standard nine-speed derailleur gear setup or a premium Enviolo CVT hub paired with a Gates CDX Carbon Belt drive. Regardless of the drivetrain choice, the Ride1Up Prodigy V2 offers pedal-assisted speeds of up to 28 miles per hour.

Rolling on Maxxis Rekon Race tires designed for mountain biking, measuring 2.25 x 27.5 inches, the Prodigy V2 ensures stability and traction on various terrains. Safety features include LED lights both front and rear, along with a brake light for added visibility. Confident braking performance is delivered by 180-millimeter hydraulic disc brakes.

For those opting for the standard nine-speed configuration, the Prodigy V2 is attractively priced at $2,395 USD, featuring a Microshift Advent nine-speed drivetrain. Meanwhile, enthusiasts seeking the premium experience of an Enviolo CVT will find it available for $2,695 USD.

Ride1Up’s Prodigy V2 e-bike presents a versatile solution for riders seeking a blend of city commuting and off-road exploration, adding to the company’s growing portfolio of electric bicycle offerings.
