Regeny EV Charging has opened a new ultra-fast electric vehicle charging hub near Dubai International Airport, expanding high-power charging access along one of the Middle East’s busiest transport corridors as the United Arab Emirates accelerates adoption of electric mobility.
The facility, located at the Mövenpick Grand Hotel Al Bustan, is equipped with four 160 kW direct-current chargers and is designed to serve both private motorists and high-utilisation commercial fleets, including taxis and limousines. Regeny said the site operates around the clock and can be accessed without entering airport premises, reducing congestion and turnaround times for airport-bound vehicles.
The launch comes as EV adoption in the UAE continues to rise. Electric vehicles accounted for about 7.7% of new vehicle sales in the first half of 2025, according to industry data, with analysts projecting that the share could reach around 15% by the end of the decade as charging infrastructure expands and vehicle costs fall.
The hub also aligns with federal regulations that require taxi and limousine operators to progressively electrify their fleets. Authorities have introduced unified technical standards under the National Electric Vehicles Policy to support fleet operators and address range anxiety through wider deployment of high-capacity chargers.
Regeny said the DXB-area hub was designed to support frequent, back-to-back charging sessions typical of commercial use, while maintaining transparent and standardised pricing. The company views airport-adjacent locations as critical nodes in supporting electrification of transport services that operate continuously.
