Qiantu introduced its newest electric-powered sports car called the K20 which is claimed to have a range of 500 km per charge. The K20 isn’t Qiantu’s first all-electric sportscar. In 2016, Qiantu launched the K50 at the New York Auto Show with the ambition to find customers in the American market. Now Qiantu presents production versions of the two concepts that appeared in 2018 and 2019.
The K20 is a two-door and two-seater sports car, equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive. The K20’s total power is 214 hp and more than 290 Nm of torque. K20 weighs only 780 kg, so with the above power, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 4.7 seconds. Qiantu has not yet said how much battery capacity for the K20.
The K20 is a sports car with hatchback style, elongated hood and large alloy wheels with red brake calipers. What’s interesting about the exterior is that the doorknob is not located on the door but on the body of the car. The taillights extend the entire width of the vehicle, with the words “Qiantu Motors” in the center.
Due to its compact size, the K20’s cabin is also quite simple, with a narrow dashboard, and the two seats are quite close together. The main screen in the cab focuses on the driver and is divided into three sections, with the shift lever located behind the wheel.
Since it is not known whether the Qiantu K20 is also equipped with an electronic sensor, it could be that this sportscar is not equipped with advanced features such as driver assist. Because it is not equipped with this sensor, the price of the Qiantu K20 itself looks quite affordable, starting from $13,000 to $22,600.
