PRO-NET, the company behind Proton e.MAS, is expanding its branded public charging network in Malaysia through partnerships with charging point operators DC Handal, JomCharge and chargEV. The rollout is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with branded charging stations planned for high-traffic locations across the country.

The partnerships will allow Proton e.MAS charging facilities to operate at locations managed by third-party charging operators, extending the visibility of the e.MAS brand within Malaysia’s public EV charging infrastructure.

Third-Party Charging Operators Join e.MAS Network

Under the agreements, DC Handal, JomCharge and chargEV will collaborate with PRO-NET on branding and marketing at participating charging facilities.

The first installations are expected to begin at a single high-traffic destination before the network expands to additional locations nationwide.

Proton e.MAS owners will be able to use the Proton e.MAS app as a payment gateway at participating stations. Customers who make payments through the app will receive discounted charging rates under the new partnerships.

e.MAS App Already Covers More Than 4,700 Charging Points

PRO-NET currently provides access to more than 4,700 charging points through the Proton e.MAS app and its Integrated Live Charging Map. The company says the network covers more than 90% of Malaysia.

The new partnerships are intended to add further public charging locations under the e.MAS branding while giving customers access to charging facilities operated by multiple CPOs.

The integration of charging services into the e.MAS digital platform is also designed to simplify payment and access for vehicle owners.

“The partnership brings together PRO-NET, our charging partners and the e.MAS digital ecosystem to support our customers as EV adoption continues to grow.”

— Zhang Qiang, Chief Executive, PRO-NET

Ahmad Munif Halim, Head of Charging at PRO-NET, said integration with the e.MAS app would make the charging process simpler and more convenient for e.MAS owners.

Charging Expansion Supports Malaysia EV Ecosystem

The initiative also forms part of PRO-NET’s efforts to support the development of Malaysia’s domestic EV ecosystem.

The company said the programme aligns with the government’s localisation agenda by creating opportunities for local vendors involved in the country’s electric mobility and charging infrastructure sectors.

PRO-NET plans to continue working with charging operators as it expands access to public EV charging facilities across Malaysia.
