Dutch charging operator PowerGo has deployed 50-kilowatt fast chargers at two PLUS supermarket locations in the province of Drenthe, expanding public electric vehicle charging access in the northern Netherlands.
The new charging stations have been commissioned at PLUS Simonides Vledder and PLUS Odoorn and are available to all EV drivers on a 24-hour basis. PowerGo said it handled the full investment and installation under a turnkey deployment model, allowing the retailer to add charging infrastructure without upfront costs.

The rollout is part of an ongoing partnership between PowerGo and the PLUS supermarket chain to integrate fast charging into everyday shopping locations across the country. Each site is tailored to local conditions, while maintaining consistent charger specifications and branding.
“At PowerGo, we make fast charging part of daily routines,” said Sander Bos, project manager at PowerGo. “These new locations provide EV drivers in Vledder and Odoorn with easy access to fast charging close to home.”
Each location is equipped with a 50 kW fast charger offering public access around the clock. The chargers feature touchscreen interfaces displaying charging status and payment information and are branded to match the PLUS supermarket environment.

PowerGo is a subsidiary of PowerField, a Netherlands-based company active in solar energy generation, storage and trading. PowerGo said all electricity supplied through its charging network is matched with power generated from PowerField’s solar parks in the Netherlands, linking retail charging with domestic renewable energy production.
The company has been expanding its presence at retail and commercial locations, with existing charging partnerships including HelloFresh, Basic-Fit and Jumbo, as competition intensifies among charge point operators seeking high-visibility, convenience-based sites.
