Pony.ai and ComfortDelGro have opened their autonomous ride service in Singapore’s Punggol district to public bookings, allowing passengers to reserve driverless rides through the Zig mobile application from June 22, 2026.

The launch marks the transition from an invitation-only pilot program to a broader commercial rollout as the companies continue expanding autonomous mobility services in Singapore.

Public Access Through Zig App

Passengers can now book rides using ComfortDelGro’s Zig app and travel in Zig-branded vehicles equipped with Pony.ai’s autonomous driving technology.

The service operates along a fixed route in northern Punggol, connecting residential neighborhoods with major destinations including Punggol Coast Mall, Punggol Coast MRT station, One Punggol, Oasis Terrace and Punggol Plaza.

The companies said the service is designed to improve first- and last-mile transportation by linking residential communities with public transit and commercial centers.

Transition From Pilot Program

The public launch follows an earlier invitation-only community trial conducted with support from local regulators and residents.

According to Pony.ai, feedback gathered during the pilot phase helped prepare the service for broader public use while building on experience gained through previous robotaxi trials in Singapore.

Focus on Safe Commercial Deployment

Pony.ai Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. James Peng said the company will continue refining the service through real-world operations.

“We are grateful for the trust and support from regulators, ComfortDelGro and the local community,” Peng said.

“As we continue to refine the service through real-world operations, our focus remains on delivering safe, reliable and convenient autonomous mobility that can complement existing public transport systems.”

ComfortDelGro Group Chief Executive Officer Cheng Siak Kian said autonomous transportation is becoming part of the company’s long-term operating model.

“Autonomous mobility is no longer a distant ambition. For ComfortDelGro, it is becoming part of how we operate.”

He added:

“From our successful robotaxi pilot in Guangzhou to today’s public launch in Punggol, we are integrating technology, infrastructure, and operational know-how needed to deploy AV services safely and at scale.”

Global Robotaxi Expansion

Pony.ai said the Singapore launch forms part of its broader international growth strategy, which combines local partnerships with phased commercial deployment.

The company plans to expand its global robotaxi fleet to more than 3,500 autonomous vehicles operating across more than 20 cities worldwide by the end of 2026, supported by continued growth in customer demand and expanding service networks.
