Polestar has introduced a trio of one-off electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its “Arctic Circle” collection, designed to demonstrate the brand’s performance capabilities in extreme winter conditions.
The modified Polestar 2, 3, and 4 models, featuring rally-inspired upgrades, underwent testing in the Arctic before their public showcase at the 2025 FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, on February 1.

The Arctic Circle EVs are not production models but design exercises highlighting Polestar’s engineering focus on cold-weather performance. Key modifications include raised ride heights, 3-way adjustable Öhlins dampers, Pirelli studded winter tires, and OZ Racing wheels. Additional features include Stedi Quad Evo front spotlights, Recaro bucket seats, and exterior winter gear such as roof racks, skis, and recovery equipment.
Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller emphasized the collection’s ties to the brand’s Scandinavian roots and motorsport heritage: “The Arctic Circle collection illustrates our unique performance DNA, rooted in motorsport and combined with Scandinavian design. We develop our cars under challenging conditions within the Arctic Circle in Sweden.”

The vehicles will not compete in the FAT Ice Race but will perform demonstration laps on the ice track, driven by Polestar engineers and professional drivers, including Head of Driving Dynamics Joakim Rydholm and racing champion Thed Björk. The event marks the first public appearance of the Arctic Circle variants, which follow a similar one-off Polestar 2 concept revealed in 2022.
Polestar, majority-owned by China’s Geely Holding but headquartered in Sweden, has expanded its lineup to three models: the Polestar 2 sedan, Polestar 3 SUV, and Polestar 4 crossover.
