Electrified products or electric cars aka Electric Vehicles (EV) continue to grow. The search for market share continues to be occupied by the makers. Polestar 2 is no exception, an electric car product made by Volvo, a premium carmaker from Sweden.

Quoted from the South Korean news agency Yonhap, today, Tuesday (18/1/2022) Polestar has just launched the Polestar 2 which is the first full-volume electric model for the South Korean electric car market.

The Polestar 2 has a 78kWh battery and has a range of up to 417 km on a single full charge.

Polestar 2 comes in two versions, namely: Single motor powertrain which sells for 55 million won and dual motor powertrain which sells for 58 million won.

Polestar plans to release four electric car models in South Korea over the next three years. These include the Polestar 3 SUV and the Polestar 4 SUV, for this year and next year.

South Korea is one of five Asian markets that Polestar has exploited for expansion, besides Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.

Polestar aims to sell the accumulated 30,000 units of Polestar models in the country which has the fourth largest economic growth in Asia by 2026. This year, the sales target for Polestar 2 in South Korea is 4,000 units.
