Not wanting to be left behind with other European brands, Peugeot is also confirmed to be marketing their electric car in 2023.

As reported by Autocar, their electric car will be taken from the base 308 hatchback. Therefore, its name will likely be called e-308.

In addition to the leaks circulating, the Peugeot e-308 will have an electric motor and an onboard charger under the hood. As for the battery, it will be placed under the floor, so the luggage compartment remains the same as the 308 PHEV version.

The battery capacity of this e-308 will be 400 volts, with a capacity of 54kWh. The single motor in this model will produce around 154 hp, or 20 hp more than the 100 kW (134 hp) motor in the e-208 and e-2008.

Peugeot claims that the new NMC811 battery chemistry will offer an efficiency increase of 12.4 kWh per 100 km. This, became the largest of other competitors.

“Meanwhile, the PHEV version already accounts for more than 20 percent of sales of the Peugeot 308, and the full electric version is expected to account for at least that proportion of sales,” said Tesson-Faget.

Based on information, the Peugeot e-308 will be in full production in July 2023, with sales following shortly after the assembly process begins.
