Elon Musk has announced the start of production of the Tesla Semi truck on his personal Twitter account. The heavy-duty electric truck will be handed over to the coke company Pepsi on December 1, 2022.
As is known in August Musk confirmed that the first Semi truck will be delivered this year, for a single charge, the truck has a range of up to 800 km. In a tweet, the Tesla CEO did not specify exactly how many vehicles would be handed over to the US beverage company on December 1.
Pepsi is very much ready for the electric vehicle after all the wait for the Semi truck since the announced start of production in 2019. PepsiCo ordered 100 units following order launch in December 2017. This year, four Megachargers were installed at the California factory site by FritoLay, a PepsiCo subsidiary.
Previously, the electric vehicle manufacturer from the United States, Tesla Inc. released photos of the Tesla Semi electric truck. In his upload, there are several changes from the first Semi truck to the latest model truck.
The difference between the trucks is visible from the front, the old model trucks do not use mirrors while the new model trucks use mirrors and additional lights on the top of the windshield.
For the wheels, on the old model trucks, the rims are seen using a cover, while the new model trucks have more open rims and show the center of the rims. Seeing the right and left rear wheels of the old model truck are more closed, while the new model truck is open.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that he promised Semi Trucks to start shipping by the end of 2022 to his customers. For charging the battery this truck is capable of fast charging up to 70 percent in 30 minutes.
This truck in appearance is the same as a truck in general, with a large truck head and wrapped in white. Entering the truck cabin, not on the right or left, the driver of the Semi Truck is in the middle of the truck.
In particular, the interior of the truck has changed, there is a new console and the steering wheel is now equipped with control buttons. The dashboard also seems to have been updated because it now has a more modern design. The latest model has new door handles and black trim at the rear of the cabin.
As for specs, Tesla says the Semi can travel between 483 and 805 kilometers respectively. This model will also have three independent electric motors on the rear axle and these are said to allow a 0-96 kmph time of 20 seconds.
