Onvo, a sub-brand of Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio Inc, is set to launch a limited-edition violet version of its L60 mid-size electric SUV on Dec. 18, with production capped at 666 units.

The Violet Edition is the latest in a series of special models introduced by Nio and its sub-brands, reflecting a broader strategy to enhance brand visibility through low-volume variants.

Show vehicles for the L60 Violet Edition are already on display at Onvo retail locations, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin immediately following the launch.

The five-seat L60 is Onvo’s first production vehicle, originally introduced in September 2024. An updated version was rolled out earlier this year to mark the model’s one-year anniversary, while maintaining the same starting price as the original version.

Earlier this month, Onvo launched the L60 Black Knight Edition, also limited to 666 units and priced at a premium over the standard model. That variant remains available through the company’s sales channels.

Nio has adopted a similar approach across its broader portfolio, including limited-edition versions of the ET5 and ET5 Touring, as well as special editions under its Firefly sub-brand, as it competes in China’s crowded electric vehicle market.
