Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ola Electric has introduced the Roadster X range of electric motorcycles, featuring chain-drive systems, mid-mounted motors, and integrated motor control units for enhanced efficiency. Deliveries are set to commence on March 15, the company announced.
The Roadster X lineup includes standard and ‘+’ variants, with power outputs ranging from 7 kW to 11 kW. The base Roadster X is available with three battery options—2.5 kWh (144 km range), 3.5 kWh (201 km range), and 4.5 kWh (259 km range).
It achieves a top speed of up to 118 kph and accelerates from 0 to 40 kph in as little as 3.1 seconds. The higher-performance Roadster X+ is equipped with an 11 kW motor and offers two battery choices: 4.5 kWh (259 km range) and 9.1 kWh (501 km range). The 9.1 kWh variant features Ola’s in-house Bharat 4680 cells, which provide higher energy density and fast charging to 50% in 13 minutes.
Both models come with MoveOS 5-powered 4.3-inch LCD displays, single-channel ABS, brake-by-wire technology, and three riding modes—Sports, Normal, and Eco. Prices start at INR 74,999 ($900) for the base version, while the top-end Roadster X+ with a 9.1 kWh battery is priced at INR 154,999 ($1,865), inclusive of introductory discounts and government subsidies.
Ola Electric, which recently launched a new line of electric scooters with a range of up to 320 km, continues expanding its retail presence. In December, the company surpassed 4,000 showrooms across India, solidifying its position as the country’s leading EV brand, with a 21% market share in total EV sales.
