Ola Electric, a  player in the Indian electric two-wheeler market, has unveiled an enhanced version of its S1 X electric scooter, boasting a larger 4kWh battery for extended range. The new battery offers up to 190km of range on a single charge, accompanied by extended warranty programs aimed specifically at the battery of the upgraded S1 X.

The introduction of the revised S1 X underscores Ola Electric’s ongoing commitment to innovation and product development within the electric vehicle sector. As the brand continues to introduce various variants of the Ola S1 electric scooters, the company also emphasizes its efforts in expanding infrastructure support. Ola Electric aims to bolster its service center network in India by 50%, targeting over 600 service centers by April 2024.

In tandem with infrastructure expansion, Ola Electric is enhancing its charging network, with plans to deploy 10,000 stations by June 2024. These improvements extend to charging technology as well, with the introduction of new chargers offering approximately 75% faster charging rates compared to home chargers, delivering up to 31 miles of range in just 20 minutes.

The company’s new fast chargers, available for home use, are priced at Rs. 29,999 ($360). Additionally, Ola Electric offers a standard warranty program covering the battery for up to 8 years or 80,000km, extendable to 100,000km for Rs. 4,999 ($60) or 125,000km for Rs. 12,999 ($157).

Featuring multiple two-tone color options, the Ola S1 X is positioned as a competitively priced offering in the market, with potential for export beyond the Indian subcontinent. With a top speed of 90km/h and rapid acceleration capabilities, the S1 X continues to cater to diverse consumer preferences within the electric scooter segment, despite omitting certain premium features found in top-tier models like the S1 X+.

Priced affordably at Rs. 109,999 ($1,325), the new version of the S1 X aligns with Ola Electric’s strategic approach to offering accessible yet technologically advanced electric mobility solutions.
