Octopus Energy has launched FleetBoost, a subscription service offering discounted public EV charging for business fleets through its Octopus Fleet platform. The company says the scheme could reduce public charging costs by up to 30% annually, with potential savings of up to £730 per vehicle after the subscription fee.
The service initially covers charging networks operated by MFG EV Power, Ionity and BE.EV, with additional charge point operators expected to join in the future.
FleetBoost Offers Discounted Public Charging
FleetBoost gives commercial EV fleets access to discounted charging rates across participating public charging networks. Octopus designed the service to help businesses manage charging expenses as they transition from petrol and diesel vehicles to electric alternatives.
The company’s estimated annual saving of up to £730 per vehicle is based on a vehicle travelling 15,000 miles per year at an energy consumption rate of 0.3 kWh per mile. The calculation accounts for the FleetBoost monthly subscription fee.
Actual savings will depend on vehicle mileage, energy consumption, charging patterns and the rates available through participating networks.
Three Charging Networks Included at Launch
The initial FleetBoost network comprises MFG EV Power, Ionity and BE.EV, providing access to thousands of public charging points across the UK.
Octopus said its analysis found that 99% of UK areas covered by FleetBoost are within 14 miles of an eligible charger, while 95% are within nine miles.
The company plans to expand the network by adding further charging operators, potentially increasing the number of locations available to participating fleets.
Matt Davies, founder of Octopus Fleet, said the service was developed to address charging affordability, reliability and accessibility for businesses operating electric vehicles.
“We know that switching a fleet to electric is about much more than putting an EV on the road – businesses need charging to be affordable, reliable and easy for drivers to use, and we’re tackling this all in one go. By bringing together some of the UK’s biggest charging brands, we can help accelerate the transition to commercial EVs and slash the cost of public charging for businesses.”
Martin Symes, EV Director at MFG EV Power, said the company was participating as a founding partner.
“Making public charging genuinely affordable is the single biggest unlock for fleet electrification, and FleetBoost does exactly that, real savings at thousands of MFG EV Power bays nationwide. MFG is proud to be a founding partner, providing cheaper, faster, more reliable charging is how we accelerate the UK’s switch to electric.”
Octopus Fleet Expands Business Charging Services
FleetBoost is the latest addition to Octopus Fleet, a platform launched in February to support businesses transitioning to electric vehicles.
The platform combines public and home charging services with fleet payment and management tools. These include automated reimbursement for employees who charge company vehicles at home.
Octopus has also expanded its fleet-related payment and charging management services through earlier initiatives.
In August 2025, the company introduced a Visa-backed Business Payments Card that allows fleet drivers to pay for charging and other business expenses. Fleet managers can access charging and spending data through a central dashboard.
In November 2025, Octopus integrated Monta Hub into its Electroverse charging network aggregator, adding tools for managing chargers, users, payments and energy consumption.
Subscription Targets Fleet Charging Costs
With FleetBoost, Octopus is adding a subscription-based discount model to its existing fleet services. The offering is intended to help businesses using public charging manage operating expenses across multiple networks through a single platform.
The level of savings available to individual fleets will depend on their usage and the charging rates offered under the scheme. Octopus expects further charging network participation to expand the service’s coverage over time.
