Nissan has launched the sixth-generation Micra, now fully electric, marking a significant step in its European EV strategy. The compact hatchback made its first public appearance on the streets of Rotterdam, highlighting its responsive handling, intuitive technology, and versatile design aimed at making everyday all-electric driving more accessible.
The new Micra is built on the AmpR small-car platform, which enables a low center of gravity, compact footprint, and optimized weight distribution. Weighing 1,500kg, it features multi-link rear suspension and direct steering for a nimble driving experience, whether navigating narrow urban roads or longer rural routes. Despite its size, the Micra offers practicality with a 2.54m wheelbase, a 326-litre boot capacity, and towing capability of up to 500kg.

Customers can choose between two battery configurations: a 40kWh unit with up to 317km of range (WLTP) and a 52kWh option delivering up to 416km. Both versions support 100kW DC fast charging, Vehicle-to-Load functionality for powering external devices, and readiness for future Vehicle-to-Grid integration.
The design, created at Nissan Design Europe in London, blends SUV-inspired elements with compact agility. Exterior features include 18-inch wheels, bold wheel arches, and sculpted panels, while the interior combines clean lines with dual 10.1-inch digital displays, ambient lighting, and soft-touch finishes. Technology highlights include Google built-in services, remote vehicle management through the NissanConnect app, and a suite of driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.

The Micra comes with a warranty package of up to 10 years, depending on market terms, providing reassurance for EV buyers. Nissan said the model is part of its broader plan to introduce four new fully electric vehicles in Europe by 2027, including the next-generation Leaf, a new Juke, and an A-segment EV, complementing its expanding e-POWER range.
