Nissan will begin taking orders for the third generation of its LEAF electric vehicle in Germany before the end of this year, with deliveries expected to start in early 2025. The new model will enter the German market with a starting price below €37,000, while the long-range version equipped with a larger battery will cost just under €42,000.

The latest LEAF represents an important milestone for Nissan in Germany, one of Europe’s key electric vehicle markets. The carmaker confirmed that the model will be produced at its Sunderland plant in the United Kingdom, with batteries manufactured locally for the European market. Nissan Germany Managing Director Vincent Ricoux said the first customer deliveries are planned for the first quarter of 2025.

The 75 kWh version of the LEAF delivers a WLTP-certified range of 622 kilometres, while the standard 52 kWh variant provides more than 440 kilometres per charge. In real-world motorway conditions, Nissan estimates that the larger battery model can travel around 330 kilometres at a constant speed of 130 kph.

The vehicle’s front-mounted electric motor produces 160 kW of power in the high-range model and 130 kW in the standard version. Both configurations have a top speed of 160 kph, with the 75 kWh model accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 7.6 seconds.

Nissan will release detailed pricing and equipment lists closer to the start of orders. Designed as a compact crossover rather than a hatchback, the new LEAF reflects Germany’s growing preference for electric SUVs. Built on the Renault-Nissan AmpR Medium platform, the model features upgraded energy-dense NMC batteries and improved efficiency, underscoring Nissan’s renewed push to strengthen its position in Europe’s competitive EV market.
