NIO recently opened five new battery swap stations bringing the company to a total of 900 battery swap stations, according to information released by the company today.

The 900th battery swap station is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu province in eastern China. NIO itself targets to have more than 1,300 battery swap station facilities by the end of 2022.

Total NIO battery swap stations have served more than 8 million users, with 9 users using the service more than 1,000 times.

NIO’s battery swap stations span China’s 31 provincial-level administrative regions, including 194 cities. Out of 59.4 percent of users use at least one battery swap station within 3 kilometers of their home.

As of April 18, an average of one battery swap station was shared by every 259 NIO vehicles, down significantly from 606 in April last year, according to the company.
