NIO, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has opened its first flagship showroom in the Netherlands. The NIO House is located in Rotterdam, the country’s second-largest city, and boasts seven main areas, including a vehicle display section and spaces for NIO owners to relax and engage with the community.
Local visitors can explore NIO’s three EV models, including the ET7, EL7 (known as the ES7 in China), and ET5, in the vehicle display area. NIO’s flagship showrooms are designed to showcase and sell vehicles while also providing a hub for NIO owners to enjoy a quality lifestyle. Smaller NIO Spaces are also incorporated into the company’s showroom.
The opening of the NIO House in the Netherlands marks a significant moment for the company, as it seeks to be more than just an EV manufacturer. “We want to welcome everyone,” said Ruben Keuter, general manager of NIO Netherlands. The company aims to provide a space for community interaction and to promote electric driving as a lifestyle choice.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the NIO House was attended by the company’s co-founder and president, Qin Lihong, as well as local dignitaries. The event marked another milestone for NIO, which opened its first NIO House in Europe, in Norway, in October 2021.
As of the end of February 2023, NIO had 101 NIO Houses worldwide, including 99 in China and two in Europe. The company also had 296 NIO Spaces worldwide, with 290 located in China and six overseas.
With the opening of the NIO House in Rotterdam, NIO has established a new hub for electric driving and community interaction in the Netherlands. The showroom is a testament to the company’s commitment to providing a high-quality EV experience that goes beyond just driving.
