The International Harvester Scout is an off-road icon and its renaissance is imminent with the launch of ScoutMotors.com, fan forums and social media channels.

Scout released new teaser images of their upcoming electric SUV concept. The company hasn’t said much about the model yet, but notes that it will have “a dashing look and well-built posture reminiscent of the classic Scout”.

While there isn’t much to see yet, the concept teaser images reveal gambot off-road tires, but with a streamlined body reminiscent of classic off-roaders. We can also see square-shaped mirrors, roof rails, and a white leather interior.

Volkswagen previously said that Scout Motors was set up as an independent company to design, engineer and manufacture its rugged pickups and SUVs for the US market. The first prototype is slated to be introduced next year, although production is only slated to start until 2026.

Little is known about the SUVs at this point, but the company has said that they will be built on “a new technical platform concept, which brings a new pickup and RUV credibility that goes beyond the Volkswagen Group’s existing portfolio.”

As Scout CEO Scott Keogh explains, “We started this fan forum to keep an open dialogue with members of our community, to hear what they can expect from an All new Scout vehicle, and to establish a central location where future Scout fans past, present, and future can come together as one.”
