New Nissan Kicks arrives in Japan with improved e-Power system

The latest Nissan Kicks model has been marketed in Japan, with a new e-Power system that is claimed to have better performance.

This increase in the e-Power system makes the power generated by 5 percent greater and the torque increased by 7 percent compared to the first generation.

The e-Power system consists of a 1200 cc 3-cylinder engine that produces 78 hp and 103 Nm of torque, and acts as a generator for the 1.57 kWh battery pack. Pure power as a propulsion, provided by an electric motor of 127 hp and 260 Nm. The power from the electric motor has now been increased to 134 hp and 280 Nm of torque.

Furthermore, Nissan has also increased the battery capacity to 2.06 kWh while fuel efficiency has increased by about 6.4 percent compared to the previous model.

The Japanese automaker says that it has also improved cabin quietness by reducing engine-start frequency at low speeds. The e-Pedal stroke is also said to now result in a more relaxed driving experience, smoothing out decelerations when the accelerator pedal is released.

A new addition to the variant is the availability of the Nissan Kicks e-Power 4WD which is equipped with an all-wheel drive system. Nissan has also installed the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system as standard, complete with a front-facing radar sensor.
