The updated Nio EC6 based on the new 2.0 EV platform, has finally been approved by the Chinese government and is ready to hit showrooms. The latest EC6 offers an array of updates and improvements over its predecessor, making it a distinct and more advanced version.
One of the most noticeable changes in the new EC6 is the redesign of the front bumper, which features more subtle headlights and a different design for the daytime running lights (DLRs). The side profile is equally impressive, with a straight shoulder line that connects the front and rear wheel arches, creating a more sophisticated look. Additionally, the window line and mirrors have been updated, making the new EC6 stand out from its predecessor.

The EC6’s most significant visual change, however, can be seen at the rear end. The current tail lights have been replaced with a single uninterrupted LED line that spans the width of the car, giving the EC6 a sleek and modern look. The EC6 also comes equipped with an adjustable rear spoiler that helps to improve aerodynamic performance.

In conclusion, the updated Nio EC6 is not just a mere facelift of its predecessor, but a completely new and improved vehicle. With the latest design updates and advanced features, the EC6 is poised to capture the attention of EV enthusiasts and car buyers alike.
The Nio EC6 NT2, as the company refers to it, has some notable differences compared to its predecessor. With a 17 mm reduction in height and a 15 mm longer wheelbase, the new model is also 30 mm wider. These changes are a result of the new NT2 electric vehicle platform which promises to bring more powertrain options to the table.
One of the first versions to be homologated is equipped with dual electric motors – one producing 205 horsepower for the front wheels and the other generating 285 horsepower for the rear axle, resulting in a combined output of 490 horsepower. This is an improvement over the current Sport Edition’s 435 horsepower but falls short of the 544 horsepower found in the Performance Edition. It is believed that this new Nio EC6 will be the entry-level Sports Edition with a slightly boosted power output.
