Tesla, an electric vehicle manufacturer from the United States, sold 52,859 vehicles made in China in November 2021. “That figure includes 21,127 for exports,” said the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) as reported by Reuters, Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Tesla manufactures the Model 3 and Model Y SUV vehicles in Shanghai. As of October Tesla had sold 54,391 Chinese-made vehicles, including 40,666 for export.

Meanwhile, Nio Inc, Tesla’s local rival in China, had sales of 10,878 cars last month. This number of sales is Nio’s highest monthly record.

Tesla’s other local rival, Xpeng Inc, sold 15,613 electric vehicles. Volkswagen, according to the CPCA, sold more than 14,000 electric vehicles in China in November.

Overall, the CPCA recorded passenger car sales in November in China reached 1.85 million. This number is down 12.5 percent compared to the same month the previous year.
