MINI USA has introduced the MINI ChargeForward program, a smart-charging initiative that provides financial incentives to electric vehicle (EV) owners for optimizing charging times. The program is designed to reduce carbon emissions and support a more efficient energy grid by drawing power when renewable energy is most available.

Fully integrated into the MINI App, the program allows customers to set departure times and automatically optimize charging schedules using utility and grid carbon signals. Participants can earn financial rewards for enrolling in both local utility and National Carbon Dividend programs, while ensuring their vehicles are charged and ready when needed.

The program is available for eligible models, including the 2025 and newer MINI Countryman SE ALL4, the 2020-2024 MINI Cooper SE Hardtop 2 Door, and the 2017-2024 MINI Countryman PHEV. Current utility partners include XCEL Energy, PSEG Long Island, Eversource, PSE, DTE, and SMUD.

BMW Group’s broader ChargeForward initiative has already surpassed 10,000 enrollments nationwide, and MINI’s launch extends the technology to its customer base as part of a wider effort to encourage sustainable electric driving.
