MINI Electric debuts in Indonesia

MINI Electric officially became MINI's first electric car in Indonesia, where the launch event was held on Wednesday (8/6/2022) today.

This electric-powered compact car was imported in its entirety or Completely Built Up (CBU) from the UK, with two types to choose from, namely the MINI Electric and the MINI Electric Collection.

“Today MINI has made another important achievement by becoming the first premium automotive brand in its segment to launch a fully electric vehicle, and starting today MINI Electric is available to customers in Indonesia,” said Ramesh Divyanathan, President Director of BMW Group Indonesia, Wednesday (8/8). 6/2022).

“MINI Electric paved the way to a sustainable driving experience while still offering a unique MINI design and underscores BMW Group Indonesia's commitment to making 2022 The Year of E-Mobility,” he continued.

For specifications, the MINI Electric uses an electric motor powered by 135 kW or the equivalent of 184 hp at 7,000 rpm.

The electric motor is also capable of producing a peak torque of 270 Nm from 100 to 1,000 rpm.

As for the battery, the MINI Electric is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 28.9 kWh which is placed under the car floor.

With this battery, the MINI Electric is claimed to be able to cover a distance of up to 232 km in one full charge.

Speaking of prices, the MINI Electric is priced at Rp. 945 million off the road, aka not including taxes and road documents.

Likewise with the MINI Electric Collection which is priced at Rp. 955 million off the road.

However, this price includes a MINI wallbox, cables for public charging, travel chargers, and installation costs.
