MG Motor UK has announced the opening of order books for its electric roadster, the Cyberster, with prices starting at £54,995. The company has scheduled the first deliveries for August, offering two variants: the entry-level Cyberster Trophy and the more powerful Cyberster GT.
The Cyberster Trophy features a single motor delivering up to 250kW (340 PS) and 475 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (about 100 kph) in five seconds, with a top speed of 121 mph (about 200 kph). This model is equipped with a 77 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 316 miles (507 kilometres) on a single charge.
On the other hand, the Cyberster GT boasts a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive, making it MG’s most powerful production model to date. With an output of 375 kW and 725 Nm of torque, it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (about 100 kph) in just 3.2 seconds, with a limited top speed of 125 mph (about 201 kph). The GT variant offers a WLTP range of 276 miles (443 kilometres) and can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 38 minutes using a 150 kW charger.
Both variants of the Cyberster come with a 77 kWh battery located in the chassis and offer four drive modes: Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track. Additional features include Brembo brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree parking camera, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system. The Cyberster will initially be available only as an open-two-seater, featuring an electric-powered folding roof.
