Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has connected its MFG EV Power network to Hubject’s Plug&Charge infrastructure, enabling automatic authentication for electric vehicle (EV) drivers across thousands of charging points in the United Kingdom.
The integration went live on May 1, 2026, following more than a year of technical development. It covers approximately 2,000 rapid and ultra-rapid charging points across MFG’s network, marking one of the largest single activations of Plug&Charge technology to date.

MFG EV Power, which operates across more than 500 locations in the UK, offers chargers ranging from 50 kW to 400 kW. The company has also committed over £400 million to expand its EV infrastructure, with plans to install more than 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers by 2030. MFG operates more than 1,200 forecourt sites nationwide, strengthening its position as a major retail and energy provider.
The Plug&Charge system allows compatible EVs to automatically authenticate and begin charging once connected, removing the need for mobile apps, RFID cards, or manual input at the charging station.
“The UK is one of Europe’s most important and fastest growing EV markets and having the country’s largest rapid charging network live on Hubject’s Plug&Charge infrastructure is a significant moment,” said Christian Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Hubject. “The broader the Plug&Charge footprint, the stronger the case becomes for every CPO yet to adopt it,” he added.
“At MFG, we are committed to making the transition to electric vehicles straightforward for UK drivers,” said Martin Symes, EV Director at MFG. “Our partnership with Hubject forms part of that commitment as we bring Plug&Charge capability to approximately 2,000 rapid and ultra-rapid charge points across the UK. This partnership is a key part of our wider £400 million programme to accelerate EV adoption and support the UK’s climate goals,” Symes said.
